gratitude and law of attraction

A Grateful Heart

What does the power of gratitude have to do with aligning with and using the law of attraction consciously?

The law of attraction is the name given to the belief that like attracts like and that by focusing on positive or negative thoughts, we can bring about positive or negative results.

Many of us first get interested in the law of attraction because we’re not happy with what we have. So we come to the teaching about the law with eager anticipation of what we can receive.

But herein lies the paradox: Before we can get what we desire we first must appreciate what we already have.

But ironically, that which draws us to the law in the first place is the very thing that must first be overcome. If you appreciate the things that you have and the choices you have made then the universe will give you more things to be thankful for. But if you’re disappointed with, or resentful of, what you have, then you are sure to receive more things to complain about.

To bring about the change we yearn for in our lives, it’s important that we know and truly believe that we all possess the power to create what we desire. One of the most powerful yet oh so simple ways to express this belief is through showing gratitude.

From almost as soon as they are able to talk, children are encouraged by their parents to say ‘please’ and ‘thank you’. ‘What’s the magic word?’ They prompt. And very quickly we learn that in order to obtain what we desire we must be polite and grateful. But as we grow, our gratitude often gets forgotten as we lose ourselves in the business of our everyday lives.

It’s time to reclaim our simple gratitudes.

Gratitude, when expressed before you actually have what you desire, is like announcing to the universe, ‘I’m so positive I’m going to attract this, I’m thanking you in advance for it. Thank you, universe!’

Thanking the universe in advance is how some people implement what is called instant manifestation. And whether or not you believe in it makes little difference.

Whether you receive what you desire instantly, in a month or in a year, the same laws are at work.

So how can we bring more gratitude into our lives?

The best place to start is when you get up in the morning. Reflect on those things that mean the most to you: your children, your partner, your car, your bed, your health, your pet, the Earth, whatever - and focus on them until you feel a loving sense of appreciation.

Do this as soon as you wake up in the morning or when you lie in bed at night. And when you do it, be sure to really feel the emotion; the stronger the appreciation the better.Soon you will be constantly on the lookout for things to appreciate. It could be when you’re driving, walking, working, exercising, etc. The world is full of reasons to drop to your knees and say ‘THANK YOU!’ to the universe.

If you find it hard to be gracious for the things that you already have, then perhaps you need to take a second look.

When you look at your life honestly, really honestly, it’s not hard to be thankful for even one thing in your life, no matter how trivial. Make this your practice in the days and weeks to come.

If you can truly feel that appreciation regularly, you’ll begin to see magic come into your life.

Having an attitude of appreciation and gratitude raises our vibration.

And remember, it's all about vibration when it comes to the law of attraction!

So, decide today that from now on you will dine on a banquet of appreciation and gratitude. It will do wonders for your spiritual, mental, emotional and physical wellness and abundance!

When it all boils down, life is all about perception. So, is your glass half full or half empty?
